First established by Tony Arnold in 1973, as a recording studio, named 'Arny's Shack', Arny' and his “Stereo Track-Stacking Ampex Sound” became popular with many top artists including King Crimson, Andy Summers (Police), Toyah Wilcox, Peter Green (Fleetwood Mac), Robert Fripp, Eurythmics, The Troggs, Freddie & the Dreamers. Philip Goodhand Tate, The Orb, Julie Driscoll, Andy Sheppard, Keith Tippett, Gordan Haskell, Dave Dee Dozy Beaky Mick & Tich, plus many variety artists the including, Rolf Harris, Max Bygraves, and Lenny Henry. These days the studio is occasionally used for remixing and re-mastering by artists including Rory Gallagher, Harry Nilsson, (Schmilsson), Steve Marriott, Lonnie Donnegon & England. Ampex equipment is still used today these include the 300 valve series, 1/2” ATR102-104's, two ATR 124's, 1 X MM1200 and 2 X 440’s. |
